Spark Driver—our largest last-mile network—now spans all 50 states, reaches over 94% of U.S. households, and plays a pivotal role in Walmart’s eCommerce growth by enabling fast, flexible, and cost-effective fulfillment. We are seeking a Sr. Manager of AI & Self-Healing Engine (Last Mile Delivery) who can turn repetitive, manual operational problems into intelligent, automated operational issue detection, root cause analysis, and resolution workflows. This role will map current-state performance management and exception handling for Last Mile Delivery, design orchestration between agents, humans, and tools, and lead the development of agent-driven automation for triage, intervention, and resolution.
Job Responsibility
Define and map workflows across Spark’s last-mile operations where automation can be applied
Build orchestration frameworks to coordinate between AI agents and operations teams
Collaborate with engineering to implement agent-driven detection, root cause analysis, and resolution workflows for key exception types
Track system performance for auto-resolution rates, manual escalations, and intervention speed
Continuously improve workflows based on telemetry, operational feedback, and impact metrics
Create strategy, roadmap, and BRD documents partnering with Operations, Product, Engineering, and Data Science
Communicate project status updates (against goals) through narratives and business reviews to leadership and peers
Provide thought-leadership to Walmart LMD leadership and business partners in delivering Agentic AI and self-healing solutions
Requirements
6+ years of experience in applied AL/ML, operations design, AI Agent product development, process automation, performance management mechanism / AI control tower development, or workflow engineering
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate data into operational impact
Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
Experience collaborating across product, operations, and technical teams
Effective communicator with an ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences
Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
Nice to have
8+ years of experience in applied AL/ML, operations design, AI Agent product development, process automation, performance management mechanism / AI control tower development, or workflow engineering
Deep understanding of fulfillment or last-mile operations in a fast-paced environment
Agentic AI: Experience in designing and implementing Agentic AI capabilities and roadmap for solving supply chain problems at scale
Roadmap Creation & Prioritization: Experience in developing complex roadmaps, evaluating and making tradeoffs, and driving prioritizations aligning with business priorities and strategies
Launch & Scaling: Experience in leading cross functional teams in executing launches and scaling systematic solutions
Cross Functional Leadership: Experiences in leading cross functional teams, influence w/o authority, and demonstrate strong ownership working in a matrix organization
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Experiences with presenting to senior leadership
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to use data and metrics to test hypothesis, validate assumptions, and evaluate outcomes
Advanced SQL skills
Manage Ambiguity: Strong ability to manage ambiguity and frame / simplify complex problems
