Our client, a global biotechnology organization focused on developing therapies for patients living with serious and life-threatening rare genetic diseases, is seeking a Sr. Manager, Accounts Payable to provide leadership and operational support. This role will focus on maintaining payment continuity, stabilizing processes, and reducing reliance on manual workarounds. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Accounts Payable leader who can quickly assess operational challenges, implement solutions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Finance, Treasury, IT, and external vendors.
Job Responsibility:
Lead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
Proactively address urgent payment issues, escalations, and exceptions to ensure business continuity
Stabilize AP processes and reduce dependency on manual or workaround solutions
Provide leadership and direction to a developing Accounts Payable team, ensuring clear priorities and timely execution
Support rapid issue resolution while maintaining operational efficiency in a high-urgency environment
Partner closely with IT and Finance teams to identify and resolve system-related issues and ensure production stability
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive remediation efforts and process improvements
Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX requirements, and company policies within the AP function
Support audit readiness and maintain accurate documentation for compliance purposes
Communicate status updates, risks, and operational dependencies clearly with Finance leadership and key stakeholders
Document processes and support knowledge transfer to ensure continuity and long-term process stability
Requirements:
7–10 years of Accounts Payable experience, including leadership or management responsibilities
Strong hands-on experience managing high-volume AP operations in a fast-paced environment
Experience partnering with IT, Finance, and Treasury to resolve system or process issues
Strong knowledge of AP controls, compliance requirements, and SOX environments
Proven ability to quickly assess operational challenges and implement solutions
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
