We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join a premier metal fabrication and processing leader in the Fort Worth, TX area. This isn’t just a maintenance role—it is an expert-level position designed for a disciplined troubleshooter who takes pride in professional workmanship and permanent fixes. Job Responsibility:
Methodically diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Maintain and repair steel fabrication machinery, including laser cutters, plasma cutters, press brakes, shears, and saws
Act as the internal subject matter expert for overhead bridge cranes
Troubleshoot, give direction to external vendors, and ensure safe rigging/lifting
Repair 3-phase motor systems (up to 480V)
Troubleshoot at the PLC I/O level (Allen-Bradley/Siemens) and perform VFD parameter checks and fault diagnosis
Manage PMs and repairs for a critical fleet of forklifts and aerial lifts to ensure constant material flow
Perform teardowns and rebuilds of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, and regulators
Execute heavy PM schedules using a CMMS, identifying critical spares and driving root-cause improvements to eliminate repeat failures
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience in steel processing, metal fabrication, or high-uptime manufacturing plants (e.g., backgrounds from companies like Ryerson, Delta Steel, or Industrial Steel)
Strong ability to troubleshoot 480V/3-phase motors and controls
Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and ladder diagrams
Expert-level understanding of seals, pumps, and mechanical power transmissions (gearboxes, bearings, couplings)
Hands-on experience maintaining bridge cranes and hoists
Non-negotiable commitment to LOTO, arc-flash awareness, and Fall Protection
Nice to have:
Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a significant plus
Ability to “go online” with PLCs to trace signals and commission VFDs
Capability in MIG/FCAW/SMAW for equipment repair and fabrication
OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, NCCER, or Crane Inspection certifications
