Help shape the availability, reliability and lifecycle planning of rollingstock components. Our Asset Management & Strategy Division is seeking a highly capable Senior Maintenance Planner to support the long-term planning, availability and optimisation of rollingstock components and rotable assets across the network. If you excel at demand planning, stakeholder collaboration and long-term materials strategy, this is an impactful role that directly supports maintenance execution and fleet performance outcomes. In this position, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and coordination of rotable and major component requirements to ensure materials availability aligns with maintenance strategies and operational plans. Your work will enable efficient maintenance execution through effective long-term demand planning, component pool optimisation and strong cross-functional collaboration across supply chain, maintenance planning and operational teams.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and maintain long-term plans for rotables and major rollingstock components to support fleet maintenance strategies
Ensure availability of rotable components to maintenance execution teams through proactive planning and demand alignment
Maintain and optimise component pool sizes to balance operational readiness, cost efficiency and asset utilisation
Aggregate and analyse demand signals across business units to enable accurate long-term materials planning
Align materials planning activities with maintenance strategies, asset lifecycle plans and operational priorities
Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Maintenance Planning and operational stakeholders to ensure smooth transition from planning to execution
Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure component availability, quality and cost outcomes meet business expectations
Monitor material performance and risks, identifying supply constraints and implementing mitigation strategies
Maintain accurate planning data within asset and materials systems to support forecasting and decision-making
Provide periodic reporting and insights to line management on material availability, risks, forecast accuracy and planning performance
Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance materials planning processes, inventory optimisation and fleet reliability outcomes
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in materials planning, asset planning, supply chain planning or maintenance support environments
Strong understanding of rotable management, inventory optimisation and demand forecasting principles
Ability to interpret maintenance strategies and translate them into material and component planning requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with experience working with large datasets
Advanced capability with Microsoft Office and enterprise asset or supply chain systems
Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across operational, maintenance and supply chain functions
Commercial awareness and experience working with suppliers to manage performance, availability and cost outcomes
