Job Description

JLL is seeking a skilled Senior Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC Associate - to join our facilities management team. This role is responsible for performing complex maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems and related building mechanical equipment to ensure optimal facility operations and occupant comfort.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handling units, split systems, and associated controls
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs according to manufacturer specifications and company standards to maximize equipment efficiency and lifespan
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime
  • Monitor and adjust building automation systems (BAS) to optimize energy efficiency and maintain proper environmental conditions throughout assigned facilities
  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls and occupant comfort complaints, providing professional service that exceeds client expectations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Collaborate with staff and external contractors on major repairs and system upgrades
  • Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and JLL quality standards
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior maintenance staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of formal HVAC training program or apprenticeship required
  • Associate degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering technology, or related field preferred
  • Universal EPA 608 Certification required
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
  • Additional certifications in specific equipment brands (York, etc.) preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience with demonstrated expertise in large-scale building systems required
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems and building automation platforms preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pneumatic and electronic control systems, variable frequency drives, and building automation systems
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Basic electrical knowledge and ability to perform minor electrical repairs safely
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in plumbing, pump operations, backflow prevention, and carpentry work preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions including confined spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work in awkward positions for extended periods
