As a Senior Machinist, you will take a lead role in operating, programming, and optimizing advanced machining processes. You will support our Skilled Trades, Applications, Controls, and Mechanical Engineering teams in designing, building, programming, and deploying custom automated equipment and solutions, while mentoring less-experienced machinists and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Set up and operate machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses
Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to machine metallic and nonmetallic parts to the required tolerances
Calculate and adjust feeds and speeds based on material and cutting conditions to optimize machining processes
Import CAD data and use CAM software to program CNC machining centers
Perform preventive maintenance on machines and maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S shop practices
Promote teamwork and collaboration to support continuous improvement and problem-solving
Mentor entry-level machinists and machining apprentices, supporting skill development and knowledge transfer
Complete jobs according to the machining schedule to ensure on-time delivery
Adapt quickly to unplanned or priority jobs to meet changing customer needs
Clearly communicate technical information, issues, and process improvements to fellow machinists and management
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Journeyman machinist status preferred but not required
2–4 years of prior industrial machining experience preferred
Completed a 4-year apprenticeship program or a minimum of 16,000 hours of combined education and machining experience
Trained and experienced in operating standard shop equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and OneNote
