The Sr. Logistics Compliance Specialist, International will support efforts as it relates to international product movements, dangerous goods / hazmat regulatory adherence, and audit-ready process management. The incumbent will be the SME and primary point of contact for International Trade regulations supporting our product movements into/out of all countries we operate in, and supporting International Product Rollouts in all global regions. This role will be responsible for identifying import and export requirements in various countries, summarizing and managing regulatory requirements, implementing best practices to meet those requirements, and working with our internal Supply Chain/Logistics teams to support necessary vendor setup and product transfers between countries.
Job Responsibility:
Support the development and implementation of a best-in-industry International Compliance program, including policies, procedures, training, risk assessment, technology and systems, and other tools to streamline and ensure regulatory and legal compliance for all business units
Review and determine key trade compliance data such as Country of Origin, HS Classification, Customs valuations for products imported/exported to/from various countries
Identify all necessary compliance and regulatory requirements to get product into and out of any given country and support the movement of those products (including Customs Authority and other Government agency requirements)
Work with Supply Chain and external suppliers to establish product data requirements and processes to ensure data is provided and maintained as required by various government agencies
Provide daily trade compliance support to import-export operational activities to ensure shipments are processed timely and properly so sample stability and project timelines are not affected, including resolving clearance delays, brokerage needs, documentation support, and transit issue resolution
Develop and administer strategies, in collaboration with customer and operations, to ensure hazardous materials / dangerous goods are stored and transported safely and in compliance with IATA, ICAO, and TDG regulations
Stay up-to-date with changing compliance regulations, and keep leadership informed with recommendations on actions/strategies necessary to maintain compliance
Conduct system compliance assessments using key internal and third-party tools to determine strength and weaknesses and implement corrective actions with location operations teams
Design and implement annual risk assessments for both internal departments and external suppliers to determine level of compliance, create scorecard and develop improvement plans
Evaluate import and compliance data to detect patterns, mitigate risks, and drive cost reduction and avoidance strategies
Assist with Operations process and improvement projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Supply Chain
5 years of global trade compliance, policy development, HS classification, sanctions, practices, import/export experience and internal/external audit activities
Possesses IATA hazmat certifications or has had previous certification and has ability to complete re-certification within first 3 months of employment
Proficiency with MS Office with strong MS Excel skills
Knowledge of warehouse management system, ERP, and QMS systems such as SAP or Oracle

Nice to have:
Experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in a GMP, CAP and/or ISO13485 environment
Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), or other trade compliance credentials preferred.
