Job Description:

Seeking a motivated and experienced Linux System Administrator for a small, diverse team that provides end-to-end software, systems, and network engineering services to support Integrated Discovery Operations (IDO).

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, maintain, and support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of a large enclave comprised of various hardware, software, and network components to include server architecture, virtual machines, managed switches, NAS, VLANs, and VPNs
  • Develop and carry out strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture and technology with minimal impact
  • Evaluate new technologies or equipment that can be added to Agency standard solutions
  • Lead, evolve, and maintain a dynamic, modern DevOps architecture, often based on open-source technology and not relying on corporate baselines, to support software developers, phased system upgrades, compliance, and improvements aimed at ensuring continued execution of the IDO mission
  • Aim to improve availability and reliability, reduce latency, and optimize performance, while maintaining the security posture

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 11 years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • TS/SCI w/ Polygraph clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Experience deploying and maintaining nginx
  • Experience with system monitoring platforms like OpenVAS, Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience with SELinux and FIPS
  • Knowledge of LatteArt/Biscotti, Netseer, SEAR logging
  • Network administration including installing, configuring, and maintaining net devices
  • Configuring various routing protocols, troubleshooting multi-hop connectivity, throughput, and latency
  • Setting up firewalls
  • Responsible for secure infrastructure and vulnerability corrections, data security, compliance, and backups and recovery
  • Maintain SSPs, STE/STN requirements via RMF, Netseer, SEAR logging, patching, IAVMs, McAfee, and UAM
  • Responsible for user-level support, including interacting with system-savvy developers and analysts, resolving network, computer, and virtual system issues & anomalies
  • Maintain enclave documentation (network diagram, system names, IP addresses, barcodes, etc.)
  • Provide monthly activity report to include system outages

  • Familiarity with RedHat Satellite
