Job Description

FinXL is seeking an experienced Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and take full ownership of foundational platforms that underpin critical digital services. In this hands-on role, you will combine deep Linux expertise with strong engineering judgement and an automation mindset to lead technical delivery across modernisation initiatives. You will be responsible for a large-scale environment, acting as the technical authority for complex platform changes and design decisions. We need an engineer who can architect and design solutions from the ground up.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, build, and own Linux platforms encompassing 650+ hosts, primarily running Ubuntu within secure, on-premises environments
  • Lead the engineering and continuous evolution of Linux Standard Operating Environments (SOEs), primarily running Ubuntu 22 and 24, along with some RHEL
  • Define and enforce strict platform standards across security hardening, availability, and resilience
  • Oversee performance and capacity planning, as well as lifecycle and patch management strategies
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for Linux design decisions

Requirements

Must be Australian Citizen with minimum of Baseline clearance and the ability to obtain NV1 Clearance
