Job Responsibility

  • Support attorneys in a busy litigation practice
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents
  • E-file in California State and Federal Courts
  • Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and scheduling
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
  • Draft correspondence and maintain case files
  • Prepare TOAs, TOCs, and litigation-related documents

Requirements

  • 7+ years of litigation legal secretary experience
  • Strong knowledge of California court rules and procedures
  • Experience with state and federal e-filing
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • At least 7 years of experience in civil litigation support as a legal secretary, with senior-level responsibility strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume litigation workload while supporting multiple attorneys at the same time
  • Hands-on experience maintaining legal calendars and deadline tracking in PracticeMaster or a comparable docketing system
  • Proficiency with court filings in state court, along with familiarity supporting federal filings
  • appellate filing exposure is a plus
  • Experience using DocuWare or similar document management software to organize and maintain case records
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word formatting for pleadings, tables of authorities, and tables of contents
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced legal environment
