Reporting to the Managing Director, the Senior Legal Counsel will lead and manage the Vantage legal team across all business functions and programmes, advising on all general legal issues, providing strategic input and guidance in all business-related matters including but not limited to, risk, corporate, competition, employment, commercial, compliance and conveyancing.
Job Responsibility:
Managing the day-to-day activities of the legal team, providing strategic input as part of the Senior Management Team and supporting Group Legal Function where necessary
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising the business on all key commercial contracts and other documents, including property documents, NDAs, master service agreements and procurement agreements
Promoting best practice and process reviews including updating existing template documents such as landlord agreements, customer agreements, framework agreements and other commercial contracts
Supporting and management of legal risks across the company
Reviewing, refining and designing all necessary and appropriate policies and procedures
Leading Vantage’s Company Secretarial function, including preparation of key approval documents
Leading legal compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices
Deal with disputes and advising the business in respect of contentious matters or litigation
Liaising with external law firms for specialist property or litigation legal advice
Providing legal advice on privacy, technology, compliance, GDPR, and employment issues to the senior management, business teams or Vantage Group’s Central Legal Team as required
Requirements:
Qualified solicitor with at least 5 years PQE with experience in the areas of conveyancing/commercial property and property related litigation ideally with a blend of private practice and in-house experience
Strong drafting skills and competency in relation to all types of commercial contracts, including property related legal documents
Excellent communication skills
Excellent judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills
Strong commercial awareness
Strong IT and Microsoft Office skills
Planning and organisational skills
Nice to have:
Previous telecommunication industry experience is desirable but not essential
