Job Responsibility
Develop, refine, and execute strategic approaches to all major disputes, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and long-term risk posture
Manage law firm engagement, guide strategic positioning, and ensure high-quality, commercially sound advice across complex matters
Shape the organisation’s approach to investigations and enforcement activity involving regulators such as the ACCC and energy market bodies
Identify, evaluate, and communicate legal, commercial, and reputational risks associated with significant disputes and regulatory issues
Provide strategic counsel to leadership on dispute trajectories, negotiation options, and organisational positioning in high-value matters
Maintain stable, high-quality management of all litigation activities during a key executive’s extended leave period, ensuring no loss of momentum or strategic clarity
Requirements
15–20+ years leading complex disputes, ideally with exposure to major regulatory or government-related matters
Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior strategic advisor within a large, multifaceted organisation
Experience engaging with bodies such as the ACCC, energy regulators, or equivalent high-impact authorities
Capacity to be based two weeks per month in Darwin and two weeks working from home, ensuring consistent leadership and availability across all litigation activities
