Job Description:

Senior Legal Counsel position supporting Aetna pharmacy legal and business teams with a wide range of pharmacy matters including market conduct exams, regulatory, compliance, risk management, and new business initiatives

Job Responsibility:

Support Aetna pharmacy legal and business teams with pharmacy matters including market conduct exams, regulatory, compliance, risk management, and new business initiatives
Provide proactive risk management support
Identify business and legal risks and provide solutions
Develop and maintain positive relationships with various clients
Regulatory and General Legal Support
Contracting support and drafting of pharmacy related agreements
Provide guidance related to new products/initiatives/service area expansions

Requirements:

Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited institution required
Bar admission in good standing
6+ years legal experience
Experience with regulatory issues required
Demonstrated business judgment and acumen required
Superior oral and written communication skills required
High level of interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities required

Nice to have:

Knowledge of pharmacy laws
Experience working with state regulators and/or responding to state inquiries and exams preferred
At least 2 years' experience in a law firm health care practice
or in-house experience at a managed care company
or governmental experience preferred
