Rapid7 is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team and act as a strategic partner to our go-to-customer organization. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of the business advising on complex commercial matters, enabling deal execution, and working closely with teams, customers, partners, and suppliers to deliver practical, high-impact legal solutions.
Job Responsibility
Act as a trusted advisor to the business, partnering closely with Sales and go-to-market teams to structure and close strategic deals
Lead negotiations for a wide range of commercial agreements—from mid-market to large enterprise customers, as well as key partners and vendors
Provide clear, commercially minded guidance that enables the business to move quickly while managing risk effectively
Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization
Take ownership of complex, high-impact negotiations and strategic initiatives, driving them through to completion
Collaborate across teams such as Privacy, Security, Finance, and Procurement on critical initiatives
Shape and improve how Legal supports the business by enhancing templates, processes, and ways of working
Function as the most senior commercial legal presence in EMEA, serving as an escalation point and mentor across the legal and broader business teams
Requirements
A law degree and license to practice law in your jurisdiction with 7+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements
At least 5 years of in-house legal experience, supporting technology transactions, preferably at a global SaaS company or within the cybersecurity sector
Experience supporting go-to-market teams on software licensing, SaaS agreements, NDAs, services agreements, SOWs, and order forms
Strong knowledge of EU and UK data privacy and security regulations, with the ability to negotiate Data Processing Agreements
Demonstrated history of partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Privacy, and Information Security teams and the ability to support stakeholders across EMEA and collaborate effectively with U.S. based colleagues
Interest in leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve legal processes and efficiency
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and collaborative mindset
Strong decision-making skills, including the ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives when negotiating and advising on sales contracts
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate legal rationale and recommendations clearly to sales, customers, and internal stakeholders
