As Senior Legal Counsel, you operate at the core of HSO’s business and serve as the primary legal advisor across the HSO Group. With strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills, you play a key role in shaping deals, safeguarding our contractual position and ensuring risks are surface early. You ensure that our commercial agreements are clear, future-proof and legally robust. You will professionalize and elevate our legal function: defining contract standards, setting up processes and shaping advisory structures. Where needed, you engage external legal experts, but you remain in control. This role places you in the middle of complex, high value IT contracts and strategic commercial discussions. You act as a true business partner at senior level, setting direction, bringing structure and building a legal foundation that directly contributes to HSO’s long-term success.
Job Responsibility:
Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts
Advise on licensing, SaaS agreements, data & privacy, security clauses and compliance matters
Translate legal risks into clear, actionable guidance for the business
Contribute to commercial strategy, tenders and innovation initiatives
Lead the development of legal processes, templates and contracting standards
Requirements:
A university-level legal education (LLM or equivalent)
At least 8 years of experience as an Attorney, Legal Counsel or In‑house Legal Counsel
Proven affinity with IT contracts, licensing structures, and technology-driven legal frameworks
Strong commercial mindset and the ability to negotiate commercial agreements with precision and pragmatism
Experience with international project services contracting across multiple jurisdictions
Understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the IT environment
Ability to translate complex risks into clear, practical advice
Excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written
