Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious and proactive Senior Legal Cashier, to join our close-knit, friendly, accounts team in Norwich. The Senior Legal Cashier will carry out tasks of a Legal Cashier as well as carrying out the additional tasks and responsibilities expected of a Senior Legal Cashier which are set out below. This role is a full time office based role but we do understand that flexibility is essential for a good work life balance.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting any queries the legal cashiers may have in the first instance, escalating these queries to the Senior Accounts Manager for support if required
  • Assisting with the management of the client balances monitor to ensure prompt return of residual monies to include dealing with annual letters
  • Co-ordinating the checks of out-of-date cheques regularly, stopping and re-issuing where required
  • Monitoring suspense account and clear down as quickly as possible
  • Assisting with keeping in control the clearing down bank reconciliations, including assisting with investigating anomalies
  • Assisting with month end processes
  • Assisting with training of new members of the cashiering team
  • Dealing with specific invoices
  • Ensuring end of day reports are carried out on a daily basis
  • Covering the specific responsibilities carried out by the individual legal cashiers during periods of holiday or absence to ensure all areas of work are kept up to date
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the Senior Accounts Manager, as required

Requirements

  • Knowledge of client accounting system including reconciliation to bank accounts
  • Desireable to have knowledge of SRA rules and regulations relating to client accounts
  • Calm under pressure, team player, flexible and adaptable to changing demands in workload
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Motivated, pro-active and highly organised, with good attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Friendly, confident, polite, customer service orientated

Nice to have

Knowledge of SRA rules and regulations relating to client accounts
