Job Description

Robert Half Legal is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Legal Assistant to serve as a central administrative and workflow lead for a dynamic, collaborative, 8-person in-house legal department (5 attorneys, 3 paralegals). This is a temp-to-hire role with a strong potential for long-term, full-time employment.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee and coordinate day-to-day operations of the legal department
  • Manage department-wide legal calendar (transactions, litigation, regulatory filings, board meetings, contract renewals)
  • Maintain centralized matter tracking and coordinate with outside counsel on scheduling, filings, invoices, and matter budgets
  • Supervise document management in iManage and enforce file naming/organization protocols
  • Manage full contract lifecycle: intake, routing, approvals, execution, archiving
  • Coordinate internal and external signings, including high-volume closings
  • Maintain corporate records, governance materials, entity documentation, and executed agreements
  • Serve as liaison between Legal and other internal business units (Acquisitions, Finance, HR, Operations, Risk & Insurance)
  • Oversee scheduling, correspondence, invoice processing, and department reporting
  • Handle confidential corporate, financial, transactional, and litigation matters with utmost discretion

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Legal Assistant in a premier law firm or sophisticated in-house legal department
  • Direct experience supporting General Counsel, CLO, or other senior legal leadership
  • Strong knowledge of transactional/litigation tracking, corporate governance, and contract administration
  • Advanced experience with iManage or similar document management systems
  • Proficient with CLM platforms and e-signature tools (e.g., DocuSign, Adobe Sign)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially document formatting/comparison in Word
