University of the Arts London is seeking an experienced Lecturer to play a key role in leading a year group and developing the BA Performance: Design and Practice course at Central Saint Martins (CSM). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to and develop an interdisciplinary course that challenges established models of authorship and encourages experimental, collaborative performance practice. This course develops students' technical and practical skills in design scenography, costume, dramaturgy, movement, and film making, while supporting critical and innovative approaches to performance-making. Based within the Performance Programme in the C School at CSM, you will be responsible for teaching, advancing curriculum development and ongoing scholarship on the course, and of a designated year group.
Job Responsibility:
Leading a year group and developing the BA Performance: Design and Practice course
Teaching, advancing curriculum development and ongoing scholarship on the course
Contributing to the development of student projects, pedagogy and curriculum direction
Helping to shape innovative and critical approaches that actively promote diversity and inclusion
Preparing students for life beyond the college
Ensuring the curriculum remains informed by current research, practice and developments in performance making
Providing pastoral support to undergraduate students, monitoring their progress and attendance
Maintaining appropriate records and liaising with colleagues
Requirements:
Experience of leading student projects, teaching, curriculum development and assessment within higher education or equivalent professional practice
A postgraduate qualification is desirable
A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCert or Senior Fellowship of Advance HE is desirable
Evidence of research, teaching, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice that is relevant to the principles and strategy of the Programme, College and University.
