This is an exciting opportunity to join the Photography Programme within the Media School at London College of Communication, working on our new BA Photography and Creative Industries course. Job Responsibility
Teaching students how to use studio and location lighting, analogue and digital cameras, and develop contemporary postproduction skills
Developing students’ creative, technical, professional and entrepreneurial skills
Helping student define their creative voice, build relationships with brands and industry partners
Helping students understand how their image-making can be developed towards building a career in the creative sector
Helping students develop their creative vision, portfolios and brand
Helping students produce works across editorials, spec ads, campaigns, branded content and personal work
Requirements
Extensive experience of working within contemporary areas of Photography, image-making or the creative industries
Could be as a photographer, filmmaker, creative director, graphic designer, or related role
Portfolio that shows comprehensive knowledge and understanding of how Photography and Moving Image can intersect with curation, advertising, or creative direction
Expertise in studio and location lighting, digital and analogue cameras, and contemporary postproduction skills
Contemporary and well documented experiences of working on branded projects
Ability to show contributions to creative collaborations: from ideation, creative strategy, pitching, budgeting, pre-production, production, post production and image licensing
Experience of working with mentees, students, learners, graduates and/or photographers on career development
Understanding of how to build creative teams, negotiate professional fee structures, build on online presence and market your work
Wide ranging and relevant cultural and contextual knowledge
Ability to apply cultural and contextual knowledge to contemporary commercial and creative practices within teaching
Innovative educator with commitment to ongoing development of pedagogy as a creative practice
