Job Description
The Senior Lecturer in Police Studies focuses on delivering high-quality teaching in Police Studies and professional/engagement activities aligned with the discipline. Expertise in Law, Psychology, or Cyber Crime/Security is desirable, with teaching duties already defined and supported by a growing research institute and evolving school structure. Job Responsibility
Lead the delivery of high-quality Police Studies education that supports strong student engagement and prepares graduates for contemporary policing and public safety roles
Contribute to the design and renewal of practice-informed curriculum that reflects current policing practice, policy, and emerging issues in law enforcement and community safety
Support and mentor colleagues in effective teaching practice, curriculum development, and the adoption of new learning technologies
Coordinate and deliver scholarly coursework units of a high standard, including development of teaching materials, delivery of classes (online and face-to-face), and assessment of student learning
Build and maintain productive relationships within the University and with policing agencies, industry partners, and the broader community to support teaching and professional relevance
Engage in research activities that complement teaching responsibilities and contribute to the body of knowledge in policing
Requirements
A PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
Experience in University-level teaching and learning activities
A record of contributing to the building and maintaining of effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry (where relevant) and wider community
Engagement in research activities that inform and enhance teaching practices
