Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity on a permanent, full-time contract to join the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences within Birkbeck’s Faculty of Science, located in the heart of London’s historic Bloomsbury area. You will pursue an internationally excellent research agenda in Cybersecurity and play an active role in leading the design and delivery our related course portfolio. In doing so, you will help foster our vibrant research culture and environment, advance knowledge in your field, and make a significant contribution to the intellectual development of our diverse student cohort.
Job Responsibility:
Teach and inspire students across various settings, from small tutorials to large lectures
Lead the development of engaging teaching materials and methods, convene modules, and contribute to the wider administration of the School
Supervise student projects and provide academic guidance
Engage in research activities and contribute to the school's research objectives
Participate in outreach and engagement activities to enhance public understanding of your discipline and/or contribute to School administration and management
Requirements:
Hold a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
Be an experienced and internationally recognised researcher
Have experience in teaching and leading modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level
Have thorough knowledge of different types of teaching methods and strategies appropriate to Computer Science
Have relevant experience from holding major administrative roles in Higher Education
Have effective communication and presentation skills
Show a commitment to diversity and the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds
