Job Description

This is a high-impact, individual contributor role designed for a "Super IC" who thrives on autonomy. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, Consolidation, Tax and Treasury, you will be the credible face of Finance for our US operations, responsible for de-risking our footprint in the region. Your primary mission will be to institutionalize our US tax and compliance framework, working with existing tools and professional services to implement a robust, automated system. In addition, you will be an integral part of the global finance team, with ownership of the US financial operations including tax & statutory reporting, supporting on our planned ERP implementation project, and being the face of Finance for the US business including our Sales teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Tax Strategic Ownership: Own the end-to-end US Sales Tax project
  • Lead the implementation and group-wide rollout of Avalara, ensuring Nexus compliance across all required states
  • US Financial Operations: Oversee US accounting operations & statutory reporting, including state-level compliance, local filings, and US GAAP to IFRS reconciliations
  • Systems & Projects: Serve as the US lead for our planned ERP implementation along with other finance tools, ensuring our US localization requirements are represented and processes flow seamlessly into the global reporting engine
  • US Business Partnering: Support our Dealdesk team by acting as the local point of escalation for US Sales teams, providing technical guidance on deal desk queries and contract compliance from a finance perspective
  • Audit & Control: Manage the US portion of the global audit, ensuring all local documentation is robust and meets scrutiny

Requirements

  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting status is required
  • Proven track record of managing US Sales Tax (Nexus) and experience with Avalara or similar automation tools is essential
  • 7+ years in accounting or tax, with specific experience in the US SaaS sector
  • Comfortable working as a "one-person" US finance hub while collaborating with a European HQ
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex US tax/accounting requirements for a non-US audience
  • A "builder" who prefers creating a scalable system over simply maintaining a status quo
