Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Systems Operations Engineer to join the Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) organization. This role functions as a Business Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with enterprise-level influence, driving strategic initiatives across infrastructure platforms. The Senior Lead will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, shaping the reliability strategy, architecture, and operating model for infrastructure platforms supporting business-critical applications.

Job Responsibility:

Lead reliability initiatives and influence platform modernization strategies
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, translating business needs into technical solutions
Architect observability, automation, and failover strategies across infrastructure domains
Define and govern SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for critical services
Drive incident response frameworks, root cause analysis, and postmortem practices to reduce MTTR
Influence target state architecture and operating models for infrastructure reliability
Collaborate with platform engineering, application teams, and business stakeholders to align reliability goals with service delivery
Mentor and guide lead engineers and operations teams across the organization

Requirements:

7+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Infrastructure domains, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years of experience managing production support and leading cross-functional initiatives
Deep understanding of SRE principles and practices
Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana)
Expertise in automation tools
Strong technical expertise, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
