As a Senior Lead General Accountant, you will be a key contributor to Aptiv’s financial integrity and compliance, overseeing general accounting activities and supporting complex financial transactions for Aptiv Germany EDS. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and cross-functional teams across Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Audit, ensuring accurate financial reporting under both US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain US GAAP and local ledgers, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and local accounting standards
Perform and review complex accounting transactions across general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany, and financial reporting
Manage statutory accounting close and reconciliations under local GAAP
Coordinate statutory reporting calendar and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and service providers
Support corporate income tax provision and return preparation
Perform transfer pricing documentation and coordinate legal/tax-related projects
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process flowcharts
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance compliance, quality, and efficiency
Serve as a key contact for resolving complex accounting issues
Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Tax, VAT, Treasury, Legal, and Audit (SOX, IAS, EY, Customs, TISAX, ISO)
Update regulatory filings including Bundesanzeiger, Transparency Register, and Commercial Register
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a multinational environment
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and local German accounting standards
Experience with statutory reporting, tax compliance, and audit coordination
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams
Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
