Job Description

The Senior Lead Developer provides technical and operational leadership across the Seaquyl platform. This role owns architecture, engineering standards, development processes, and delivery execution while remaining hands-on in the codebase. Beyond technical oversight, the Senior Lead Developer directly manages the development team, driving team optimization and internal project execution to consistently ensure all deadlines are met. The Senior Lead Developer works directly with leadership to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead technical architecture across Seaquyl OS and Seaquyl Node, designing scalable multi-tenant systems and operational workflows
  • Direct and manage internal project execution, optimizing team workflows, removing bottlenecks, and tracking milestones to guarantee timely delivery
  • Direct, manage and mentor developers, conduct rigorous technical reviews, and drive technical hiring and developer onboarding
  • Define and enforce high-quality development standards, security protocols, and engineering best practices
  • Lead the implementation of major platform initiatives and guide system design for specialized modules, including offshore operations, processing, machine vision, condition monitoring, and analytics
  • Oversee end-to-end release quality, platform performance, security, and system reliability
  • Collaborate directly with product and executive leadership on strategic roadmap planning

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of direct experience managing agile engineering teams
  • Expert-level TypeScript and Node.js expertise
  • Deep experience with PostgreSQL and distributed systems
  • Proven leadership of engineering teams and successful delivery of technical projects
  • Experience designing enterprise SaaS platforms
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and deployment automation
  • Exceptional communication, prioritization, and technical decision-making skills
