Job Description

The Senior Lead Counsel position is responsible for providing Citi businesses and functions with legal counsel and thought leadership, focusing on vendor procurement and commercial transactions. The role involves managing compliance risk, providing legal analysis and advice, collaborating across global geographies, and proactively addressing legal and regulatory challenges.

Requirements

  • Experience in vendor procurement and commercial transactions space preferably in practice or as in-house at a global or regional bank / financial institution or Information Technology company
  • solid conceptual / practical grounding in the laws and regulations of the geographies Citi operates in throughout Asia
  • ability to work independently and with initiative on complex transactions
  • regional (Asia), multi-jurisdictional experience or cross border experience
  • 15+ years PQE preferably in practice or in-house at a global or regional bank / financial institution or Information Technology company
  • substantial experience with general commercial/contractual/transactional work essential
  • knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, regulations (including Outsourcing, Data Privacy, Banking Secrecy, Operational Resilience, Technology Risk Management, Cybersecurity) and practices
  • experience with complex deals
