Job Responsibility

Laboratory Operations & Testing: Operate and maintain a variety of lab equipment to perform critical tests on materials, components, assemblies, and products. Accurately record and report test data with basic analyses
Prototyping & Assembly: Assemble and inspect prototypes. Support the design and fabrication of custom fixtures to aid in measurement, inspection, testing, and evaluation
Lab Management: Ensure a safe, clean, and organized lab environment. Manage the inventory of lab tools and supplies. Coordinate regular maintenance and calibration of equipment
Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support product development and consumer testing
Logistics: Coordinate the shipping and receiving of lab materials and products

Requirements

Materials laboratory technician -2 Must be qualified to attain competency rating 4~5 in accordance with form QR 09 FSL skills matrix for all mandatory tests mentioned under categories technician level 1 & 2
Should have sound knowledge of computers/software
Good understanding of HSEMS system
Good understanding of QMS system
Well familiar with international material testing standards like ASTM, ACI, BS, DIN
Ability to learn the techniques quickly with the aid of standard test methods, FSL SOP, work instructions and project specification
Competent in handling different equipment, tools and chemicals
Accuracy in reading results of tests and recording them correctly
Attention to detail to ensure correctness of test data in datasheets and reports, by self-checks
Excellent communication skills to understand instructions in writing as well as spoken, and to convey clear messages about problems in testing or test results

Job Responsibility

Carry out Laboratory and field materials testing of construction materials, including soils, aggregate, concrete and asphalt
Perform the required test in accordance to standard methods, QMS SOPs and project specification, with properly recording all test data on company standard data forms and submit to the Laboratory Supervisor for analysis and final report
Provide training to juniors and assist supervisor for data reduction
Collect samples to be tested, register, test, store, and dispose of them in accordance with applicable standard laboratory quality procedures
Before each test, ensure each equipment is in good working order and calibrations are up to date
carry out routine maintenance as well as performance checks, when required
Conduct the required tests and record the results accurately
Produce test data on standard format worksheets in a precise and timely manner in accordance with standard procedure, and sign the worksheet at the completion of a test
Perform test data calculations, plot results and prepare test reports to be checked by the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor
After a test, ensure equipment and tools are in good condition, and if not ensure they receive proper attention and rectification

Job Responsibility

Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations (e.g. media/buffer prep, solvent/reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, some physical testing, witness senior staff experiments)
Maintain lab inventory and labeling (e.g. chemical reagents, glassware, gas cylinder levels)
Verification/maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g. balances, pH meters, sonicator cleaning, glass washing)
Preventative maintenance, cleaning & documentation of several laboratory instruments including incubators, tissue culture hoods, water baths, etc.
Perform specialist equipment user performance checks if required
Management of consumables & reagents, including Point of Use (PoU) Kanban areas by daily monitoring and replenishment, and liaising with in-house media prep. services
