CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Laboratory Manager to join a Life Sciences solutions provider revolutionising biomedical research who are based in Macclesfield on a fixed term contract basis for 9 months. Our client is developing solutions designed to help scientists, researchers, and clinicians solve the world’s greatest health challenges.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee testing of clinical samples and supervise, mentor, and develop laboratory staff, including scientists, technicians and support personnel
Lead a high-throughput clinical genome sequencing laboratory, including technical troubleshooting, developing and writing operational procedures, setting laboratory key performance indicators and establishing quality metrics
Design and implement processes and procedures to ensure efficient turnaround times and accuracy of results and oversee daily laboratory operations, including workflow optimization, resource allocation and equipment maintenance
Prepare and manage laboratory budgets, monitor expenditures and optimize resource utilization
Ensure all processes comply with national regulations, organizational policies and accreditation requirements and maintain ISO 15189, CAP and other accreditation standards, including preparation for audits and inspections
Lead initiatives for process improvement and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
Educated to PhD level ideally
Extensive experience in a high-throughput clinical DNA Sequencing laboratory
Experience with clinical assay development, process development and project management
Proven track record in team leadership, staff development and laboratory management
Strong background in Quality Assurance and Quality Control applications in clinical diagnostics
Detail-oriented, highly organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to troubleshoot technical applications and manage laboratory automation systems
Strong knowledge of quality control practices and regulations of UKAS, ISO 15189, CAP and other regulatory agencies
