Job Description

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

Job Responsibility

  • Own testing within Archer’s various integrated labs from planning stages through execution and reporting
  • Utilize lab test equipment and Archer’s simulation environment to setup test cases, validate system requirements, and investigate issues
  • Lead collaborative efforts with aircraft system engineers to develop test plans and procedures
  • Assist in the coordination of integrated lab test scheduling
  • Develop and maintain integrated test lab operating procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in aircraft system integration and test, or related field
  • Technical understanding of test equipment (Scopes, Meters, and Sensors) for applicable use in a lab environment to drive tests to completion
  • Wholistic understanding of aircraft systems and their impact on higher level vehicle capability
  • Ability to develop and execute aircraft system verification and validation procedures
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, A429, Serial (RS-485/RS-422/RS-232), and Ethernet
  • Positive and collaborative communication style
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with HIL and/or real-time simulation environments
  • Proficiency in Python and its use to develop custom test automation and data processing tools
