Job Description:

Build backend systems that protect global brands from online infringement. We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer to take a leading role in developing the infrastructure behind large-scale web scraping and automation. This system is at the heart of our mission to detect and act on online brand misuse across e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, and social channels. You’ll join a small, highly capable engineering team where you’ll shape the technical direction, own key systems, and have real impact. Primarily focused on Java backend development—ideal for someone who enjoys crafting scalable, well-architected services and mentoring others in clean, maintainable code.

Job Responsibility:

Lead development of backend systems supporting web scraping, detection, and enforcement
Design and maintain scalable services using Java, with integrations to Python-based automation workflows
Own infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including Pub/Sub, Kubernetes, Docker, and Compute Engine
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to turn brand protection needs into robust solutions
Promote high standards for testing, code quality, and engineering best practices

Requirements:

Strong Java backend experience, ideally building distributed systems or automation platforms
Familiarity with Python in scripting or web scraping contexts
Proficiency with GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Pub/Sub)
A team player who values maintainability, clean code, and strong documentation
Confidence to lead by example and contribute to team culture and practices

Nice to have:

Hands-on experience with web automation tools like Playwright or Selenium
Exposure to CI/CD, logging, or monitoring tools
Interest in domains like digital investigations, IP enforcement, or online security
