Job Description:

We are looking for a strong developer who is technically passionate, solution-focused and able to contribute to the development of our data platform, which uses the financial sector industry standard technology. KDB is the low latency database used in Financial Markets for handling large volumes of real-time and historical data. What makes KDB unique is the fact that is it column oriented and extremely fast at querying and aggregating large datasets. It is used in ING for a variety of scenarios such as data collection, analysis, monitoring, complex event processing. We are in search of a strong Developer who is technically passionate, eager to learn and grow on multiple aspects, such as technical, kdb expertise, business knowledge.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver quality code
  • Develop and maintain feedhandlers
  • Work on automated testing and monitoring solutions
  • Understand the KDB architecture and technology
  • Interest in learning q language
  • Interest in understanding business concepts
  • Use One Agile Way of Working, work closely with Product Owner to define next steps and to clarify business requirements

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in Java (Java 17)
  • Knowledge on multi-threading
  • Familiarity with automated testing
  • Comfortable with relational databases and SQL
  • Familiarity with source control, CI/CD and documentation tools (Azure DevOps, Confluence, Git, Maven)
  • Strong analytical skills, proactivity and ability to work in cross-border teams
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, testing, and debugging
  • Strong communication skills
  • Security as a mindset
  • Eagerness to learn q language, kdb architecture and processes
  • Eagerness to learn about Financial Markets
  • Foreign languages: English (advanced)
  • Education: An university degree in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering or equivalent

Nice to have:

  • If there is no C++ experience, can be compensated by willingness to learn and ability to learn fast
  • CMake experience
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetees, Azure DevOps, OpenShift
  • Experience or affinity with IT Security concepts (Application Security, Authentication, and authorization)
  • SpringBoot knowledge
  • Financial Markets knowledge
