Job Description:

The Senior Java Developer role involves analyzing and developing complex applications systems and programs to address specific business needs, with a focus on Java, big data technologies, and distributed systems. This intermediate-level position contributes to all phases of the software development lifecycle and provides expertise in analysis, design, implementation, and support while adhering to organizational standards and compliance requirements.

Job Responsibility:

conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establishment and implementation of new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
monitor and control all phases of the development process including analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation
provide user and operational support on applications to business users
analyze complex problems/issues
provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards
make evaluative judgements
recommend and develop security measures in post-implementation analysis
consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues
recommend advanced programming solutions
install and assist customer exposure systems
ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
serve as advisor or coach to new or junior analysts
operate with a limited level of direct supervision
exercise independence of judgement and autonomy
act as SME to senior stakeholders or other team members
assess risk when business decisions are made
ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency

Requirements:

5-8 years of relevant experience
hands on with Java/Spring/Kafka/MQ
hands on with Java Spark/PySpark
hands on with Big Data - Hadoop/Impala/Phoenix
hands on with relational databases - MySQL/DB2/Oracle
hands on with distributed caching - Redis/Couchbase/GemFire
well versed with batch processing, real-time processing, and analytics
act as an L3
experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
experience in managing and implementing successful projects
working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques or methods
ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
