Job Description:

Senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities for Citi's global instant payments platform.

Job Responsibility:

Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals
Identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes
Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming
Ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable Java-based microservices and APIs
Leverage AWS cloud services to build and deploy cloud-native applications
Utilize MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas expertise to design and manage efficient data storage
Implement Kafka and message queues to enable real-time data processing
Work closely with tech leads and cross-functional teams to understand requirements
Conduct thorough unit and system testing to ensure code quality and reliability
Thrive in an Agile environment, actively participating in sprints
Perform threat and risk assessments, implement security best practices
Write clear technical documentation and actively contribute to knowledge sharing

Requirements:

6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of hands-on Java development experience, with proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and related frameworks
Experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices architectures
Strong understanding of AWS cloud services and experience building cloud-native applications
Expertise in MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas, including data modeling and performance tuning
Hands-on experience with Kafka or other message queue technologies for building event-driven systems
Proficiency in SQL and experience with Oracle database management
Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

Experience with Jasper Reports or similar reporting platforms
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Knowledge of the payments industry and associated regulatory frameworks
Master's degree preferred
