Job Description

The client requires professional services to support and maintain an enterprise ITSM platform based on IFS assyst, including implementation of approved enhancements and ongoing system improvements. The role will also support migration activities to a modernized ITSM toolset (ITSMv2) and contribute to service improvement initiatives. The environment is built on ITSM and ITIL best practices and includes integrated technologies such as Liferay, Java-based components, and secure enterprise infrastructure across designated and classified domains. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring system stability, performance, and availability while supporting modernization efforts and evolving business requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain and support Linux-based server infrastructure for the IFS Assyst platform, ensuring stability, security, and availability
  • Perform OS patching, upgrades, and infrastructure maintenance across platform, application, and OS layers
  • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and lifecycle activities, including platform and application components
  • Monitor and optimize server performance (CPU, memory, storage, network) and manage capacity, storage, and data archiving
  • Support database operations including performance monitoring, backups, recovery, and disaster recovery testing
  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, system, and performance issues, including support for planned outages and after-hours maintenance
  • Ensure integration and interoperability across enterprise systems, including CMDB and external interfaces
  • Support enterprise application components including Liferay, Java-based services, XML/PDF forms, and authentication systems (e.g., Kerberos)
  • Participate in structured change and release management processes within a controlled enterprise environment
  • Support migration activities to the new ITSM toolset, including data integration and CMDB alignment
  • Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives (e.g., containerization and platform improvements)
  • Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, scripts, and configuration records
  • Collaborate with application and support teams to ensure effective infrastructure use and alignment
  • Review and optimize infrastructure design for performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Monitor technology trends and recommend infrastructure improvements aligned with enterprise direction

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration and enterprise infrastructure management and support, including patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and disaster recovery
  • 5+ years of experience operating and maintaining enterprise IT platforms in production environments, working in large-scale environments (e.g., 50,000+ users or complex enterprise systems)
  • 5+ years of experience working in complex integrated environments with multiple platforms (e.g., Liferay, Java-based,XML-based interfaces, or similar enterprise application stacks)
  • 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise ITSM platforms (e.g., IFS Assyst or ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools)
  • Must hold a valid Secret Security Clearance with the Government of Canada
  • Must be located in the National Capital Region (NCR) and able to work in a hybrid model (Ottawa/Gatineau)
  • Must have a College Diploma or University Degree in an IT discipline or similar

Nice to have

  • Experience with Liferay or portal technologies
