Senior IT Project Manager

• Translate business needs into clear scope, requirements and deliverables
• Lead stakeholder engagement across senior and executive levels
• Manage risks, dependencies and project governance effectively
• Plan, execute and oversee projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope, on time and within budget, while proactively managing risk and dependencies
• Lead and embed change, ensuring stakeholders are supported, informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle
• Lead two significant initiatives in the first 12 months: cloud migration of the University’s finance system and implementation of a new identity and access management solution
• Manage an evolving portfolio of projects aligned to digital transformation, service improvement and operational efficiency

• Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, business, project management, or a related discipline, or equivalent extensive experience delivering complex projects in large organisations
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams to achieve alignment and successful project outcomes
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders, including professional staff, academic leaders, and students
• Outstanding planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills, with experience allocating resources, managing multiple concurrent work streams, and meeting deadlines in a large, complex organisation
• Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect multiple work streams into coherent, improved processes and solutions
• Ability to interpret and use qualitative and quantitative data, translating insights into informed solutions and leveraging data to guide decisions and measure project outcomes
• Demonstrated experience in change management, including stakeholder engagement, communication, and adoption of new systems or ways of working
• Proven capability in influencing senior stakeholders and guiding decision-making, including executives, academic leaders, and professional staff
• Experience translating business needs into clear project scope, requirements, and actionable deliverables, with strong business analysis skills
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying policies and procedures, translating them into system processes, and influencing work practices
• Proven ability to manage strategically and provide authoritative advice at a senior level, balancing operational requirements with strategic priorities
• Australian citizenship, permanent residence or a current valid visa that allows you to fulfill the requirements of this role

Relevant professional certifications in project management (e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, Agile) and/or formal training in change management (e.g. Prosci) or business analysis
