Job Description

We're partnering with a rapidly growing financial services organization seeking a Senior Investment Accountant to join its expanding investment accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional interested in investment portfolios, insurance accounting, statutory reporting, and financial analysis within a collaborative and highly visible environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Support GAAP and statutory investment accounting and reporting activities
  • Perform accounting and analysis for debt securities, equity securities, derivatives, and related investment income
  • Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual investment reporting schedules
  • Analyze fair value, book value, unrealized gains/losses, and impairment activity
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Reconcile investment activity across custodians, asset managers, and accounting systems
  • Review pricing and ratings data for accuracy and reasonableness
  • Assist with statutory reporting requirements including AVR and IMR calculations
  • Support internal and external audit requests, controls testing, and documentation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-4+ years of accounting experience
  • Public accounting, insurance accounting, investment accounting, fund accounting, or financial services experience preferred
  • Strong Excel skills and analytical capabilities
