Job Description:

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Within Consumer Marketing, we bring that mission to life through digital experiences that shape how people see and engage with our brands. We create modern, high-impact web experiences across Windows, Surface, and Copilot where storytelling, interaction, and design craft come together to move people from curiosity to action. We’re looking for a Senior Interactive Web Designer to lead the visual and interactive expression of these experiences. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who can move seamlessly from concept to execution by combining strong design sensibility with front-end fluency. You’ll define and build elegant, performant experiences across the customer journey and bring together systems thinking, motion, and modern web technologies. You’re hands-on, detail-obsessed, and comfortable working at the intersection of design and engineering. You also know how to leverage emerging AI tools to accelerate workflow without compromising craft.

Job Responsibility:

  • Experience Design: Lead concepting and design for full websites, campaign experiences, and key interactive moments. Create work that is clear, expressive, and grounded in the customer journey
  • Front-End Craft & Development: Translate design intent into production-ready experiences using modern web technologies (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Build prototypes and partner closely with engineering to ensure the final output matches the vision
  • Interaction and Motion: Define interaction models, transitions, and micro-interactions that feel intentional, responsive, and refined across devices
  • Prototyping and Alignment: Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, motion studies, and coded prototypes to align teams, test ideas, and resolve complexity early
  • Performance and Quality: Design and build with performance in mind. Optimize for speed, responsiveness, and strong Core Web Vitals without compromising design integrity
  • Accessibility: Ensure experiences meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards, with thoughtful consideration for color, typography, motion, and interaction patterns
  • Data-Informed Iteration: Use research and analytics to inform decisions. Form hypotheses, test ideas, and refine experiences based on real user behavior
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with creative leads, writers, engineers, SEO, and business partners to align on direction and deliver cohesive, high-quality experiences

Requirements:

  • 6+ years designing and shipping interactive web experiences for leading consumer or product brands
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong visual design, interaction thinking, and work that shipped. Shows both craft and systems thinking across a range of experiences
  • Expert in Figma and component-based design systems. Able to define responsive behaviors and create clear, scalable specifications
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React or Next.js
  • Deep understanding of responsive design, browser behavior, performance constraints, and modern animation techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of accessibility standards aligned to WCAG 2.2 AA
  • Clear communicator who can present work, explain decisions, and align teams across disciplines
  • Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate concepting and production while maintaining quality and brand standards
  • Able to interpret research and analytics and translate insights into design improvements

Nice to have:

  • Experience designing for global audiences, including localization and right-to-left layouts
  • Familiarity with motion implementation techniques such as Lottie, SVG animation, or lightweight animation systems
  • Experience working with headless CMS platforms and modern web stacks
  • Comfortable collaborating in agile environments with engineering and content teams
  • Experience contributing to or evolving large-scale design systems
What we offer:

Comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth and development
