The CMCC Foundation – Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici invites applications for up to three senior integrated assessment modellers to join its interdisciplinary research team. The successful candidates will join an international and interdisciplinary research environment, and will contribute to strengthening CMCC’s core research areas. They are also expected to play a key role in developing new research lines that address climate and environmental challenges of high scientific and societal relevance. The successful candidates will work within the European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE), one of the three CMCC Institutes. EIEE stands at the intersection of environment and economics, evaluating sustainable and socially inclusive strategies to combat climate change and other major environmental challenges.

Modelling of international and national climate policies, including current policies, national pledges, and long-term strategies
Decision-making under uncertainty and advances in optimisation and decision-analytic frameworks
Low-carbon transition pathways, climate mitigation scenarios, and system-wide transition analysis across economic, energy, and environmental systems
Climate change and its interactions with air pollution
Integrate expertise with the Institute’s existing analytical and modelling capacity
Make substantive contributions to the Institute’s research agenda, advance integrated assessment and policy-relevant modelling approaches, and play an active role in securing external research funding
