Job Description:

Seeking highly motivated individuals for a career in Insurance Product Analytics on the Commercial Auto Insurance Product Analytics team. The role is essential to GEICO’s continued success. Senior Insurance Product Analysts are motivated, self-driven, and excellent analytical thinkers who work closely with partners in other areas of the business unit, are active in determining business strategies, educating management on results, and communicating across departments. The work informs a wide range of critical business decisions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, prepare, and interpret statistical analyses of key business metrics to help support strategic decisions within the business unit
  • Develop, interpret, and present analysis and proposals to various stakeholder groups to help solve mid to high level business problems in pursuit of company goals
  • Employ statistical techniques to model various underwriting and pricing business practices
  • Analyze complex business problems and key performance measures, understanding the drivers of performance, helping develop solutions to problems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Math, Statistics, Data/Business Analytics, or other relevant quantitative field of study OR Bachelor’s degree in any field of study plus prior experience
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL or other similar languages to extract data
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with data analysis software like R, SAS, Python, or Power BI
  • Ability to work independently given general direction and to thrive in a team environment that is constantly changing
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities, providing accurate and timely results
  • Intellectual curiosity to learn and ability to ask insightful questions
  • Effective time management, attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
  • 1 - 2 years of analytical experience in insurance or a similar field preferred
