The Senior Instructional Designer plays a central role in designing and delivering innovative, effective, and scalable learning solutions across the business. As a key member of the BSI Learning Team, the ideal candidate brings deep expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and digital learning methodologies within complex, matrixed global organizations. This role partners closely with SMEs, key stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to conduct learning needs analyses, define learning objectives, and create impactful learning experiences that support capability-building, change initiatives, and workforce transformation. The Senior Instructional Designer applies sound learning theory and models (e.g., ADDIE, VARK) while maintaining adaptability and pragmatism in fast-paced, large-scale environments.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all instructional design-related targets, deliverables, timelines, and activities within assigned projects
Support project leads in managing project scope, resource allocation, objectives, and milestones
Collaborate with SMEs, stakeholders, and functional partners to surface business problems, define learning needs, identify learner profiles, and establish assessment strategies and evaluation methods
Coordinate all phases of the learning development lifecycle, including design, development, implementation, and evaluation
Lead the design and development of storyboards, e-learning modules, simulations, scenarios, assessments, and blended learning resources
Partner with multimedia developers, graphic designers, and AI-powered tools to produce engaging learning assets
Develop in-room, live-online, and printable training materials in collaboration with trainers, facilitators, and coaches
Integrate real-world case studies (e.g., commercial operations, field force decision-making, data insights and analytics)
Conduct quality checks and content reviews to ensure compliance, accuracy, and alignment with learning standards
Promote best practices and support continuous improvement of instructional design processes
Requirements:
5+ years instructional/content design experience within a large matrixed organization (or minimum 3+ years in a directly relevant role)
Experience working remotely and across global distributed teams
Proven ability to conduct learning needs analysis and translate findings into effective learning solutions and assessments
Experience designing online, blended, and printable learning resources
Strong communication skills and experience engaging SMEs and stakeholders
Experience performing quality reviews and content validation
Proficiency designing and implementing online learning assessments
