Job Description:

Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for overseeing the company's IT infrastructure and ensuring operational efficiency in technology services. This role involves collaboration with senior management to align technology with business goals. Key duties include managing data centers, server, storage, and network infrastructure, while ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role also drives innovation in IT infrastructure, manages vendor relationships, and maintains a technology roadmap that supports the company's growth and digital transformation.

Job Responsibility:

Ensuring stability, scalability, and efficiency of IT enterprise and telecoms infrastructure
Maintain high-performance infrastructure, reducing downtime and optimizing cost
Managing business stakeholders to define product roadmaps and ensure other departments within HSBC are informed about available technologies
Align infrastructure strategies with business objectives, meeting both current and future needs
Seamlessly deliver IT infrastructure services, such as network, storage, and data center operations
Collaborate with business and clients to identify improvement points for IT infrastructure
Oversee risk management related to infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Maintain strong relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring third-party services meet agreed performance standards
Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance
Resolve major incidents and infrastructure-related problems to minimize impact
Lead end-to-end delivery and continuous improvement of IT services
Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of network and server infrastructure
Develop and implement network designs and architectures to support organizational needs
Ensure scalability, reliability, and security in network infrastructure
Monitor and optimize network performance
Evaluate and manage relationships with vendors and service providers
Ensure server performance and security
Develop storage solutions meeting scalability, redundancy, and performance needs
Maintain documentation of configurations, policies, and procedures
Regularly report system performance and improvements.

Requirements:

Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, able to forge trusted partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders across the Bank
Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and collaborate to successfully deliver services to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing environment
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with ability to think creatively to drive innovative, practical, and cost-effective solutions to complex issues
Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including data centers, networks, servers, and storage systems infrastructure
Knowledge of hybrid cloud solutions (public/private), virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
Proficient in managing enterprise-level network infrastructures, including LAN/WAN, VPNs, SD-WAN, firewalls, and load balancers
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and disaster recovery planning
Understanding of ITIL/ITSM practices for service management (incident, problem, change, and configuration management)
Expertise in monitoring and maintaining infrastructure performance, uptime, and capacity planning
Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to infrastructure and operations
Knowledge of governance frameworks for managing IT infrastructure in regulated environments
Familiar in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
Strong understanding of stakeholder management and change management
Experience in managing vendor relationships, including negotiating SLAs, monitoring performance, and overseeing third-party service providers
Experience with procurement processes for infrastructure components and services
Significant experience in managing 24/7 IT operations, including monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis
Implementation of ITIL/ITSM practices to improve service delivery and operational efficiency
Experience managing disaster recovery and business continuity planning for critical infrastructure.
