Senior Immigration Specialist role at Deel, the all-in-one payroll and HR platform for global teams. The role involves managing complex immigration cases, providing expert advice on EMEA immigration laws, ensuring compliance, and delivering outstanding client service.
Job Responsibility:
Manage immigration cases from start to finish either in-house or through a third party provider with the majority of those being more complex
Ensure cases are accurately updated on a case management system and actioned in a timely manner in accordance with set SLAs/KPIs
Give expert advice on immigration laws within EMEA countries ensuring client’s compliance with current regulations
Provide consultations (via email or call) to clients clearly outlining applicable immigration/work authorisation routes
Deliver outstanding client service through clear, professional communication and proactive case management
Stay up to date with changes in immigration law and policies in assigned countries, proactively communicating any potential risks/changes that may impact clients/employees
Assess right-to-work requirements for Employee of Records (EORs) and client sponsored candidates
Liaise with internal teams for corporate document gathering and work closely with other internal departments to ensure efficient case management
Show strong understanding of country specific immigration processes, compliance requirements and act as a subject matter expert for assigned countries/regions
Have immigration documents correctly updated, tracked and audited to ensure compliance and timely initiation of renewals
Support in auditing and maintaining internal knowledge base on immigration requirements to ensure its accuracy
Work on immigration/process improvement projects, as assigned
Requirements:
5-6 years of experience in global mobility or immigration roles, with proven hands-on experience managing immigration processes in Germany
Must have experience with immigration vendor management
Fluent in English
Strong knowledge of global relocation and immigration compliance
Experience working with cross-functional teams to manage mobility and immigration processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients and stakeholders at all levels
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases concurrently
Detail-oriented and proactive in managing complex mobility cases
Experience with policy development and process optimization
Ability to stay up to date with the EMEA immigration laws and adapt to regulatory changes
Nice to have:
Nice to have German fluent language skills
Nice to have experience managing immigration cases in any of these countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and/or Kazakhstan
