Job Responsibility
Manage and deliver robust hydraulic designs across all project phases
Oversee strict QA/QC processes to maintain superior design quality and full compliance
Take ultimate responsibility for the accuracy and quality of hydraulic design outputs, including arithmetical checks and independent reviews of other engineers' designs
Conduct sophisticated value engineering (VE) exercises, ensuring every project is designed with value and efficiency in mind
Ensure all layouts and documentation strictly align with relevant Australian standards and the Building Code of Australia/NCC
Provide expert, ad-hoc design input whenever required to keep projects moving forward
Maintain, grow, and strengthen relationships with key clients and major stakeholders through regular, proactive engagement
Manage all client-facing correspondence, taking direct ownership of communications to drive positive outcomes for all parties
Lead the project team and manage seamless coordination across all engineering disciplines and external consultants
Initiate and lead project kick-off meetings to align the team on scope, deliverables, and expectations
Understand the scope defined in signed fee proposals, flagging, documenting, and discussing variation items with clients transparently
Consolidate internal RFIs/TQs across all disciplines to avoid drip-feeding information to clients
Maintain rigorous oversight of project timelines, budgets, and overall client satisfaction
Update the Job Management System daily with project progress and billable hours while adhering to company policies
Complete design checklists for all disciplines and capture critical lessons learnt after each project completion to elevate future work
Requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Tertiary qualifications in hydraulic engineering)
CPEng and NER certifications are highly regarded
Minimum of 5+ years of post-graduate experience specifically operating within a building services consultancy environment
Proficient in executing hydraulic design calculations, sizing pumps and tanks, designing stormwater systems, and engineering sprinkler networks
Superior analytical capability, sharp problem-solving skills, and a high attention to detail
Strong project management capabilities with a knack for multidisciplinary services coordination
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
