Our Sydney Buildings group are seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer. This role is suitable for a qualified candidate to take the lead on a diverse range of projects. We are looking for someone with Hydraulic design consultancy experience within the building services sector. The successful candidate will be able to apply their technical skills and demonstrate commitment in a way which ensures projects are thoroughly designed, personally reviewed and delivered on time. You will be expected to service projects including those of relatively large size, of high complexity and with multiple clients. Stantec are involved in a vast variety of project types and sizes from data centres, health, defence, high-rise and education to refurbishments and site investigations. The successful candidate will be working in a strong team environment (Hydraulic and other Building Services disciplines) and will need to manage several projects at any one time. You will be self-motivated, resourceful and a great communicator.
Job Responsibility:
Develop hydraulic building services designs, including water supply, sewerage, stormwater, and gas systems
Lead client-facing project delivery from concept through to construction, ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong stakeholder satisfaction
Prepare technical documentation, calculations, assessments, specifications, and tender packages for a variety of building projects
Conduct site inspections, defect reporting, and respond to RFIs during construction
Prioritise workloads whilst ensuring our clients’ needs are met
Continue to build and develop your professional profile across NSW
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, Building Codes, and client specifications
Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Requirements:
Be degree qualified in an engineering discipline
Have hydraulic building services work experience within the consulting or engineering industry
Self-management skills
Technically strong in terms of understanding the key elements of the design and construction associated with Hydraulic Engineering works
Ability to make quality business decisions
Ability to multitask and deliver high profile projects in a timely manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
