Job Description

Senior HVAC Technician | Christchurch. $50ph - $55ph. Relocation Support negotiable. Sick of spending your Saturday inspecting townhouses you can't afford? Here's the maths Auckland doesn't want you to do: same hourly rate, a house that costs half as much, a 15 minute commute, and the Port Hills or the mountains on your doorstep. We're recruiting on behalf of one of Christchurch's most established mechanical HVAC contractors. Nearly 40 years in business, still locally owned by the original founder, and a service team with the kind of staff tenure that tells you everything about how they treat their people. They've got a strong pipeline of varied commercial work and a growing crew of junior techs and apprentices, which is exactly why they need you.

Job Responsibility

  • Senior service technician across commercial HVAC, with a focus on fault-finding and breakdown work on VRV/VRF systems
  • Varied commercial portfolio: multi-storey buildings, schools, supermarkets, warehouses
  • Player-coach position: on the tools and guiding junior techs
  • Service vehicle and standard trade package

Requirements

  • HVAC trade qualification (NZ Cert in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or recognised equivalent)
  • Solid hands-on diagnostic experience with commercial VRV/VRF systems (Daikin VRV, Mitsubishi City Multi, or similar)
  • Genuine fault-finding ability
  • Enough years on the tools to credibly mentor others
  • EST licence held, or working towards it
  • Full driver's licence

What we offer

  • Relocation support negotiable
  • Manufacturer training pathways
  • A stable, well-run business with genuine long-term career runway
