Job Description:

Located in Uptown Charlotte, near the football stadium and South End, the JW Marriott Charlotte offers a luxury resort experience in the heart of the city. The hotel features 381 rooms, 20,000 square feet of meeting space, two restaurants, a rooftop bar, and a 5-treatment room spa. Our Human Resources department, which includes two coordinators, a manager, and a director, supports a team of 350+ associates and leaders. As Senior HR Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting our teams by welcoming and assisting associates, answering inquiries, and providing administrative support. In addition, you would serve as the lead coordinator and primary support for complex HR administration, support the execution of the talent acquisition strategy, and deliver advanced HR operational support by ensuring effective post-orientation onboarding, system access, compliance, data integrity, and associate lifecycle administration. The role partners closely with leaders, HR Managers, and Corporate teams to support hiring execution, learning, benefits administration, risk management, and continuous improvement of HR processes, while strengthening cross-functional collaboration.

Job Responsibility:

  • Welcome, direct, and assist associates and applicants with HR-related inquiries
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, interviewing, onboarding, drug testing, and orientation
  • Maintain and manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Plan and support associate recognition and engagement events
  • Maintain accuracy of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) while protecting confidential data
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for associates regarding benefits, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with HR leadership and Executive Committee members as needed
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and employment laws
  • Perform additional duties to support business needs

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude, strong service mindset, and passion for people
  • Knowledge of HR policies and employment laws (ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, confidentiality, flexibility, and initiative skills
  • Dependable with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 10 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to follow all policies outlined in the Associate Orientation Handbook
