The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the HR team by ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of human resources functions across the employee lifecycle. This hands-on role partners with leaders and employees to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and compliance, while supporting onboarding, maintaining accurate personnel records, and effectively communicating HR policies and practices.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as a trusted HR partner to leaders and employees by providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, coaching, corrective actions, and workplace concerns, including conflict resolution and terminations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and best HR practices
Partner with the HR team to develop and prepare materials for mandatory HR training and related initiatives
Maintain and create HR forms to ensure managers and employees have access to the most current and accurate documentation
Manage and support employee recognition programs and initiatives
Support the development and ongoing improvement of the employee lifecycle and associated programs
Analyze HR trends and metrics to identify opportunities for proactive solutions and continuous improvement
Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements to HR policies, procedures, and best practices
Cross-train with other HR team members to provide coverage and support as needed
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5–8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations and compliance
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and complex HR issues with sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day HR execution
Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills
Collaborative, approachable, and solutions-oriented mindset
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative and accomplish tasks efficiently
Nice to have:
Bilingual, fluent in Spanish, highly preferred
HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
Experience in a multi-state and/or union environment preferred
