We are looking for an experienced Sr. HR Generalist to support a dynamic organization in Livermore, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity will lead essential human resources activities across employee support, compliance, recruiting, benefits, and payroll. The ideal candidate brings broad HR expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while building strong partnerships across the business.
Job Responsibility
Direct day-to-day human resources activities for a workforce of approximately 100 employees, ensuring smooth and effective HR service delivery
Review, refine, and maintain HR policies, internal procedures, handbook content, and other core documentation to keep programs current and consistent
Monitor adherence to employment regulations and HR standards at the federal, state, and local levels, with particular attention to California requirements
Oversee employee records, HR data accuracy, reporting, and supporting documentation to maintain reliable and organized personnel information
Guide employees and managers through key stages of the employment lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, job changes, leave events, and separations
Advise leadership on workforce planning, employee engagement efforts, performance concerns, corrective action, and policy interpretation
Manage end-to-end recruitment activities across departments, including candidate coordination, interview scheduling, offer administration, and pre-employment onboarding steps
Administer benefits and leave programs, serve as a point of contact for vendors and brokers, and support annual enrollment and employee education activities
Process or supervise payroll updates related to hires, departures, compensation changes, and deductions while coordinating with payroll and finance contacts to resolve issues
Requirements
At least 7 years of progressively responsible HR experience spanning HR operations, employee relations, recruiting, payroll, and benefits administration
Prior success in an independent HR role such as standalone HR Generalist, HR Manager, or sole HR support for a business unit or organization
Strong working knowledge of California employment law and practical HR compliance requirements
