YMCA Norfolk is expanding its Supported Lodgings programme—a vital housing initiative that offers safe, nurturing homes for young people aged 16–25.This project is now entering an exciting new phase of growth. We’re investing in a stronger, more connected network of hosts and support staff, and this role is central to making that vision a reality. We’re looking for a dynamic and compassionate Senior Housing Engagement Worker to take the lead in delivering high-quality support to young people aged 16–25 living with Supported Lodgings hosts. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the service, working closely with hosts, residents, and external agencies to create safe, nurturing environments where young people can thrive.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the recruitment, onboarding and retention of Supported Lodgings Providers
Deliver tailored support plans and life skills development for young people
Provide training, guidance and regular communication to hosts
Coordinate workshops, events and outreach to promote independence and personal growth
Supervise a small team and contribute to wider housing service goals
Requirements:
Experience working in housing or support services with vulnerable young people
Strong communication and outreach skills, including the ability to engage with diverse communities
Knowledge of housing legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and tenancy management
Ability to assess needs and risks, and develop effective support plans
Confidence in leading others, managing performance, and promoting best practice
A Level 3 qualification in Housing (or willingness to work towards it)
Full driving licence and access to transport
