Job Description

This specialized position is situated within a dedicated regional underwriting team focused on the strategic expansion of the high-net-worth product portfolio in Asia. You will oversee the technical assessment and structuring of complex, large-scale cases with a primary focus on Variable Universal Life and associated wealth products. The operational environment requires continuous engagement with internal stakeholders and external distribution partners to facilitate the seamless processing of cross-border business.

Job Responsibility

  • Risk Assessment: Performing complex medical and financial underwriting for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients across multiple jurisdictions
  • Case Management: Evaluating large-scale cross-border risks across Variable Universal Life, Indexed Universal Life, Universal Life, and Investment-Linked Policy structures
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partnering with distribution teams, international brokers, case managers, and regional leadership to facilitate technical case structuring
  • Advisory Services: Providing underwriting insights and technical recommendations to optimize case decision-making and product structuring
  • Governance & Control: Supporting local and regional governance, internal audit functions, and underwriting quality control processes to maintain portfolio integrity
  • Platform Development: Contributing to the continuous enhancement of regional underwriting guidelines and the development of the high-net-worth proposition in Asia

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, science, or a related discipline, with relevant professional insurance qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in life insurance underwriting, including direct exposure to high-net-worth or complex, large-scale cases
  • Experience underwriting Universal Life or Investment-Linked Policies
  • Demonstrated competency in both medical and financial risk assessment for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clientele
  • Effective communication skills to manage interactions with regional stakeholders and external distribution partners
